Here is what a team captain does:
1) Helps recruits team members for his or her team. (Don't worry if you can not find eight, we always have extra runners) 2) Acts as a liason with the Run-4-Jared coordinator to set up team name and on-line regsitration. All team runners must register and make payment on line. 3) Assists by promoting "The Jared Box Project" community awareness and runner fundraising efforts. 4) Must complete the TMB team rotation order form, to assign runner numbers for the relay rotation order. 5) Coordinates the availability of a support vehecile for the race. 6) Must be a runner on the team, the shortest leg is 2.8 miles; even a novice runner can do it!! 8) Distributes the official "2011 Run-4-Jared" race day tee-shirts and race gear! 9) Picks up the fresh food items the day before the race, donated gift cards will be available. 10) Picks up the teams race packets, (or designee) the evening before the race. 11) Reviews the critical race rules with the team. 12) Designates two support vehicle drivers (team members) and be sure they register as drivers for the race. 13) Collect each of the team members pledge cards and pledge monies on race day. 14) Designate an official team photographer (team member) for race day, we love pictures and video!! 15) Promotes a low pressure, positive, fun, supportive and responsible attitude during the race. We are running for Jared, not the Gold Medal.
